How well do you really know the Guadalcanal Campaign?

Guadalcanal Campaign Quiz: Test Your Knowledge!
The Guadalcanal Campaign (1942-1943) was fought to deny Japanese forces a foothold in the southern Solomon Islands and prevent them interdicting the lines of communication between the United States and Australia. The campaign centred on the control of Lunga Point, the only area flat enough to host a major operational airfield. The Japanese started building an airfield, the Americans seized it from them in August 1942, and the Japanese spent six months trying to take it back, at enormous cost to both sides. The campaign see-sawed back and forth across Guadalcanal, and the battles were shaped by both grand strategy and small unit tactics. The Tenaru, Savo Island and Bloody Ridge are familiar names — But how well do you really know about the Guadalcanal Campaign?
