These recommendations are not generic lists — they reflect decades of field exploration, primary-source research, and analytical study of battles across 2,500 years of military history. Each book has been selected to assist in understanding command decisions, military culture, doctrine, terrain, weapons, strategy, and operational art. I have read all of the books, and still own about 90% of them.
